Arena Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Texa Global Technologies Ltd (RC 8467566), incorporated in Nigeria, is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. The Arena platform is developed by Shawd Ltd (RC 9655495), which processes data on our behalf. This policy is written to meet the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).
2. What we collect
- Account: your phone number, display name, and — if you choose to share them — your home country and state.
- Payout identity: to withdraw winnings, your Bank Verification Number (BVN) is used once to verify you and is stored only as an irreversible cryptographic hash, never the number itself, together with your verified account name and bank account details.
- Gameplay: your answers, timings and round results for each game — used for scoring, settlement and to detect cheating.
- Money: your wallet ledger — deposits, entry fees, prizes and withdrawals.
- Device and technical: a device identifier, app version, IP address, and a push notification token if you enable notifications.
- Support: messages you send us.
3. Why we use it
- To run the competition — entries, scoring, settlement and prize payment: performance of our contract with you.
- To keep money records — ledgers of deposits, fees, prizes and withdrawals: our contract and our legal obligations.
- To keep the game fair — integrity review of gameplay and device signals: our legitimate interest in a fair competition every entrant paid to join.
- To meet the law — identity verification, fraud prevention, responding to lawful requests.
- To notify you — night reminders and results, only per your notification settings, which you can change at any time.
We do not sell personal data, and we never use pre-ticked consent boxes.
4. Who we share it with
Licensed payment partners (to process deposits and withdrawals), SMS and push-notification delivery providers, and professional advisers or authorities where the law requires it. We never sell your data and never share it for third-party marketing.
5. Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active. Financial records and consent records are kept for the statutory retention period after account closure — they are legal evidence. Detailed gameplay telemetry is kept only as long as needed for settlement and integrity review.
6. Security
Your BVN is never stored — only an irreversible hash. Data moves over encrypted connections; financial and consent records are append-only, so history cannot be silently rewritten; access to personal data is restricted.
7. Your rights
Under the NDPA you may request access to your data, correction, deletion (where we are not legally required to keep it), object to processing, and withdraw any optional consent. Contact us at [email protected]. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
8. Children
Arena is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly hold accounts for anyone under 18, and we close any account found to belong to a minor.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we make a material change we will tell you what changed and ask you to accept the new version before you continue to use Arena.
